MSNBC Host Chris Hayes Kickoffs 2017 ILS Spring Lecture Series
New York Times bestselling author and Emmy Award-winning news anchor Chris Hayes kicked off the 2017 Institute for Leadership Studies’ Spring Leadership Lecture Series in partnership with Book Passage at Dominican University of California in San Rafael on Tuesday.

Hayes, author of the new book A Colony in a Nation, is host of All In with Chris Hayes on MSNBC, the New York Times bestselling author of Twilight of the Elites, and an editor-at-large at The Nation.

Joining Hayes in the Spring Lecture Series lineup at Dominican are One Book One Marin honoree Anthony Marra, bestselling author Anne Lamott, and environmentalist Paul Hawken.
On April 13 at 7 p.m., Anthony Marra, author of National Book Award longlist selection and New York Times bestseller A Constellation of Vital Phenomena, will appear in conversation with KQED host Michael Krasny at Dominican. It is One Book One Marin’s 2017 culminating event to celebrate Marra’s award-winning book, The Tsar of Love and Techno.
The Marra event is free and open to the public. Copies of The Tsar of Love and Techno will be available for purchase.
On April 17 at 7 p.m., Anne Lamott, bestselling author of Help, Thanks, Wow and Stitches, returns to Dominican with her newest book, Hallelujah Anyway: Rediscovering Mercy. Lamott, author of six New York Times bestselling books, is a past recipient of a Guggenehim Fellowship and an inductee into the California Hall of Fame.
Tickets to the Lamott event are $25 and include an autographed copy of Hallelujah Anyway: Rediscovering Mercy.
On May 1 at 7 p.m., Paul Hawken comes to Dominican for the first time for an event co-sponsored by Environmental Forum of Marin. Hawken is an environmentalist, entrepreneur, journalist, and author dedicated to sustainability and changing the relationship between business and the environment.
Tickets to the Hawken event are $35 and include an autographed copy of his newest book, Drawdown.
Doors at Angelico Concert Hall open one hour prior to the programs. Free parking is available on campus in the nearby Conlan Center parking lot at the intersection of Acacia and Grand avenues.
The speaker series, a cooperative effort between Dominican’s ILS and Book Passage, features some of the country’s leading figures from the worlds of business, politics, entertainment, academia, and literature.
The series has entertained and educated thousands of Marin County and San Francisco Bay Area residents.
